HOW TO VOLUNTEER

The quality of our program and the safety of our TRAK family depend on the reliability
of our volunteers. We ask that volunteers commit to a weekly shift for at least four
months. This will give you time to learn your responsibilities and what it takes to care
for our animals. That said, please be realistic about your commitment and availability.
We understand things happen from time to time. So, if you can't make your shift, please
be courteous and call ahead to let us know so we can get you covered. If you're under 12
and want to volunteer, you must have a parent volunteer with you at all times. We also require all regular Volunteers to have health insurance coverage. Your parent must have had a background check and attended the Volunteer Orientation.

Volunteer Course Fees
  • ($15) Adult Background Check
If you're an adult who wants to volunteer, you need to pass a background check. But, if
you have an up to date fingerprint ID, the background check isn't necessary. This fee is
payable to Credential Check Corporation.
  • ($20) for Volunteer Orientation
Payable to TRAK Ranch (or online). This covers your TRAK Handbook and volunteer
T-shirt.
  • ($25) for the Horse Handler Training*
Payable to TRAK (or online below). This covers your handbook, certificate, and TRAK
Horse Handler shirt.
*ALL volunteers in the horse handler training courses MUST be able to halter and lead the horse
on their own.
  • ($40) Volunteer Orientation and Horse Handler Training Bundle
In case you wanted to take both courses and get the full TRAK experience.
