Concerned about safe Participation in our programs?
TRAK is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit program focused on children and adults, some of whom have special medical and developmental needs.
So, like our animal family, our human family is diverse. We're made up of all ages and vulnerabilities. The person next to you may be immune compromised, and you cannot tell that by looking at them.
During the pandemic, we remained open to provide care for our animals and to meet the need for childcare for essential workers. We did so with the permission of Pima County health authorities as well as the Arizona governor. Our staff have all undergone antibody testing for COVID-19 and are aware of their status. We have been practicing social distancing, disinfecting, and following CDC guidelines since the beginning of the pandemic.
Our protocol and expectations are the following:
If you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have had the virus and are now recovered, please self-quarantine for 14 days before coming back to the ranch.
Thank you for helping our ranch family remain healthy while still enjoying western life on horseback together.

We have been practicing social distancing, disinfecting, and following CDC guidelines since the beginning of the pandemic.
Our protocol and expectations are the following:
- No one experiencing symptoms of illness, such as fever, chills, or active cough should come to our property. (This is not a new policy.)
- If you are expected to work as a shift volunteer, you can call us to cancel, and we will make sure the shift is covered. Don't try to be a hero. Please stay home if you are not well.
- Upon arrival, we will check your temperature at the gate with a touch-less thermometer. Anyone with a fever will politely be asked to leave.
- Our staff will be wearing masks and adhering to CDC guidelines. We cannot force volunteers or participants to wear masks. However, as of June 20, 2020 at 6 AM, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero has mandated masks for all those ages 2+ who do not have a medical condition or disability preventing them from wearing a mask. Please consider your individual situation and act accordingly.
- We will practice >6' social distancing to the greatest extent possible. Groups have been intentionally made small in camps and lessons for this purpose, and tables set apart so that children can eat lunch or do crafts while maintaining distancing.
- Our bathrooms are disinfected hourly with hospital-grade disinfectant.
- Brushes, hoof picks, and any horse supplies are to be used once and placed in the marked bin for disinfection. All common supplies in drawers have been disinfected by staff, as are saddles and rails.
- Participants, staff and volunteers will be reminded to wash their hands, or use hand-sanitizer throughout the day, after each activity and before eating.
If you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have had the virus and are now recovered, please self-quarantine for 14 days before coming back to the ranch.
