The human-animal bond is a powerful transformative tool! TRAK offers ground-based Equine Assisted Learning sessions to children and young adults in a group-based setting, focusing on all aspects of age-appropriate life skills. Sessions incorporate skill-building and training with hands-on work with our horses to:
Increase awareness of non-verbal cues/communication
Build trust and confidence
Increase emotional regulation and responsiveness
Improve boundaries and appropriate communication
Help members identify emotions
Improve impulsivity / focus / concentration
Increase problem solving skills
Build empathy
Encourage healthy social connection/activities
and to Improve tolerance of frustration and stress.
Horses are prey animals. This means that if they feel uncertain or that they are in danger, their fight or flight response is almost always flight. They also have a strong awareness of emotional temperament and nonverbal cues. In other words, they can read humans and our behavior very well! Horses are also large animals, which means you can’t tell them what to do or force them to do a certain task just because you want them to. Working with horses requires clients to be aware of their behavior. Due to their consistent authenticity, horses are among the best teachers and guides for personal growth and development and frequently serve as a mirror of dynamics in the client’s life.

Our Animal Assisted Life Skills Program is fitted for children under 18, led by our Equine Specialist McKinley.
By moving from a traditional office setting to the outdoors, horses and small animals can become a powerful tool in the healing and growth process. Working with an equine partner allows a client to gain valuable insight into their own behavior patterns, choices, relationships, and emotions. It is through this experiential approach that clients are empowered to develop their own solutions on their terms.
Within Animal Assisted Life Skills, children are able to:
Improve interpersonal relationships skills
Increase the ability to regulate emotions
Increase self confidence
Enhance communication and positive forms of self expression
and Improve focus and concentration

TRAK offers equine-assisted learning and animal assisted life skills sessions that are uniquely fit for any group looking for an exceptional team building experience! We offer courses for corporations, small- businesses, church groups, and many more.
These ground-based sessions can quickly show us how people think and respond in everyday situations. In each session, participants are challenged to work through real-life problems and situations as a team. All participants have the opportunity to develop confidence, leadership skills, team dynamics and provide insight into non-verbal communication.
How can a horse make all the difference? Working with a horse is like looking in a mirror. It will highlight individual strengths and weaknesses, help them determine what works and what does not, and develop and apply new skills that will translate to every-day situations.
