Tiny Trailblazers is an early childhood enrichment program designed for children ages 18 months through 5 years, located at TRAK Ranch in Tucson. The program provides a developmentally appropriate, experiential learning environment where children explore the
natural world and build foundational skills through structured interaction with animals.
Each session is offered seasonally and runs for five weeks, with one-hour classes carefully
designed to integrate:
– Animal-Based Learning: Direct interaction with a variety of animals, including horses,
fosters empathy, responsibility, and an early understanding of animal care and welfare.
– Literacy and Cognitive Development: Story time and age-appropriate lessons
encourage language acquisition, listening skills, and knowledge retention.
– Creativity and Fine Motor Skills: Crafts and hands-on activities support artistic
expression and motor development.
– Social-Emotional Growth: Shared experiences with peers, caregivers, and animals
nurture confidence, cooperation, and compassion.
– Healthy Habits: Snacks and physical engagement outdoors promote wellness and active
lifestyles.
Caregivers—including parents and grandparents—are invited to participate alongside children,
reinforcing family bonds and modeling lifelong learning. By engaging families together, the
program strengthens social connection, supports positive parenting practices, and enhances
community involvement.
Outcomes: Tiny Trailblazers equips children with early social-emotional, cognitive, and motor
skills in a unique setting that combines education with the therapeutic benefits of animal
interaction. Families report stronger connections, greater confidence in their children’s abilities,
and lasting memories of shared learning.
