Horseback Riding
Horsemanship Riding Lessons
**Horsemanship Lesson Participants must be at least 8 years of age on the day they have their first lesson **
Lessons at TRAK involve more than just riding. We believe that in order to be safe around horses, it is very important to understand the “nature of a horse”. Lessons start at 8 years old or older, working side by side with the horses, learning about their nature, how to approach, halter, and lead them. Once in the saddle, students will learn the methods and practices set forth by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA).
Please see our Little Buckaroos Program for riders under 8 years old.
Register for lessons below, and we will reach out to you with some scheduling options.
As lesson spots open up we go down the list and offer specific times and days as they become available!
Once a week lessons -$65
Twice a week lessons – $55
Each lesson is one hour. Lessons are in a group setting. Once a lesson slot is offered, that is your slot (weekly or every other week). Every Summer and Fall we reach out to all current riding students and organize a new schedule in order to avoid the hottest part of the day.
Please reach out if you have any specific questions on horsemanship riding lessons.

Little Buckaroos gives the little one in your life that “first time” riding experience! Our Little Buckaroo lessons are a 30 minute lesson for children ages 4-7, designed to teach horse safety on and off the horse, body positioning, and communication with the horse. Children of all abilities will learn new horsemanship skills including walking, turning, and even trotting and simple barrel patterns- all of this gearing them up for horsemanship riding lessons at age 8! (There is no ground horsemanship during these 30 minutes)
Is your Little Buckaroo ready to get started? Great! Here are a few things to remember before you get started:
-
All Buckaroo riders MUST have a TRAK Family Membership to participate in lessons.
-
Please make sure your child is 4 years old. If you do have any concerns or questions about their ability to ride, please call our office at 520.298.9808.
-
All Buckaroo riders MUST wear long pants
TRAK is proud to be a riding facility accredited by Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), a nationally-recognized credential in equine safety and horsemanship, with CHA-certified instructors on staff.
